During the Onam holiday in 2006, a group of friends from a Kochi arts club went on an enjoyable excursion to Kodaikanal. They find themselves at the Guna Caves, a location well-known for its association with the movie “Gunaa.” Happy and inebriated, they proceed into restricted regions of the caves, disobeying the cautions of a tour guide named Dominic.
A companion by the name of Subhash tumbles into a secret hole while they are carving their group name, “Manjummel Boys,” into the cave wall. At first, they assume it’s a joke, but when he doesn’t answer, fear takes over. Locals they approach for assistance tell them of the hole’s perilous past—13 people have disappeared there. Their situation is made worse by the police’s accusations of foul play.
They band together to save Subhash even though the authorities are reluctant. They encounter difficulties but ultimately save Subhash by lowering their companion Siju into the hole. Subhash gradually gets over his trauma via covert therapy. Two years later, Siju receives a medal as a result of his bravery being acknowledged.
Their heroic rescue story and story of friendship win people over and have a long-lasting effect on their small town.
