Vikas Bahl is the director of the 2024 Indian Hindi-language supernatural horror film “Shaitaan,” which translates to “Devil.” Jio Studios, Panorama Studios, and Devgn Films produced it. Replicating the Gujarati film “Vash” from 2023, this film features Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Anngad Raaj, and Janki Bodiwala reprising her part from the original. The narrative centres on a family that encounters difficulties after their daughter is enchanted by a stranger using dark magic. They try to put an end to the possession and find out why the stranger is there.
The movie was first announced in May 2023, and it was filmed in London and Dehradun, India, from June to September of the same year. Amit Trivedi wrote the soundtrack, while Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti handled the cinematography and Sandeep Francis handled the editing.
During Maha Shivaratri on March 8, 2024, “Shaitaan” was launched in theatres to acclaim and mixed reviews. With a budget of ₹60–65 crore, it made over ₹211 crore in global earnings, making it the second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024, the highest-grossing Indian horror film ever, and the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2024.

Shaitaan Movie Storyline
Kabir Rishi, a chartered accountant, lives with his wife Jyoti, and their children, Janhvi and Dhruv, in Dehradun. During a holiday to their sheltered farmhouse, they meet a weird man named Vanraj Kashyap. After Janhvi eats a laddu from Vanraj, she falls under his hypnotic power, following his every order.
Vanraj shows his sinister intentions, insisting that Janhvi be handed over to him. When the family refuses, he uses black magic to force Janhvi into strange and dangerous deeds. Despite Kabir’s tries to save his family, Vanraj’s power escalates, showing violence and panic.
As Vanraj tries to sacrifice Janhvi and 108 other girls to achieve ultimate power, Kabir cunningly injures him and frees the girls using a recording of Vanraj’s voice. A year later, Kabir visits Vanraj, who is now mute and detained, declaring that true power lies in a parent’s love and protection, turning Vanraj’s life into a living hell.
