Savi Movie Introduction

Savi is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action suspenser produced by Abhinay Deo and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Vishesh Films and T-Series Films. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Divya Khosla, and Harshvardhan Rane in key positions. A remake of the 2008 French film Anything for Her, which also encouraged the 2010 Hollywood movie The Next Three Days starring Russell Crowe, “Savi” presents a special twist by pulling motivation from the legendary tale of Savitri and Satyavan. The story follows a dedicated housewife’s daring task to break her husband out of a high-security jail in England. Unlike its French and American partners, this Bollywood transformation places a brave female protagonist at the heart of the action.

Savi Movie StoryLine

Nakul Sachdeva (Harshvardhan Rane) and his wife, Savitri “Savi” Sachdeva (Divya Khosla Kumar), are an Indian couple living contentedly in Liverpool, UK, with their son Adi (Mairaj Kakkar). Savi is a devoted housewife, while Nakul works as a construction laborer. Despite their peaceful life, Nakul endures constant humiliation at the hands of his racist boss, Stephanie Fowler (Jane Horn).

One morning, just as Nakul is about to go to work, their home is overrun by police, and he is arrested for Stephanie’s murder. Although Nakul vehemently rejects the charges, he is convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Despite Savi’s stubborn belief in his blamelessness, the proof is overwhelming: Nakul’s fingerprints are located on the murder weapon, and Stephanie’s blood is on his clothes. Nakul maintains that he accidentally discovered the real killer, which led to the transfer of blood onto his coat and his fingerprints on a fire extinguisher. Yet, there is no proof to support his story, including the missing button he claims was torn off during the struggle.

Determined to prove her husband’s innocence, Savi, along with their son Adi, continues to visit Nakul in prison, hoping for a successful appeal. However, their lawyer and long-time friend, Anu, subtly hints at Nakul’s possible guilt, and eventually, the appeal is denied due to a lack of supporting evidence.

As time goes on, Savi faces mounting financial difficulties and makes the drastic decision to break Nakul out of prison. She seeks the counsel of Joydeep Paul (Anil Kapoor), a notorious criminal known for his multiple successful escapes. Paul advises her to prepare fake passports, gather funds, choose a non-extradition country, and meticulously plan every detail of the escape.

While Savi prepares for the jailbreak, Nakul becomes a target of a drug-smuggling ring within the prison and is placed in solitary confinement for a month after filing a complaint. The gang threatens to kill him unless he withdraws the complaint, leaving Savi with only three days to act before Nakul’s assailants are released.

In a desperate bid, Savi robs two drug dealers, inadvertently killing them in the process. The police quickly identify her as a suspect, launching a manhunt. Undeterred, Savi manages to swap Nakul’s medical records with a fake report, claiming he needs hospitalization. Once at the hospital, Savi frees Nakul at gunpoint, and they escape together.

The police discover Savi’s detailed jailbreak plan and assume the couple intends to fly from Manchester Airport to Marrakesh. However, upon arrival, they realize the flight does not exist and that Savi had cleverly misled them. In reality, the couple escapes by ferry.

Moved by Savi’s determination, Officer Ayesha Hassen reexamines the crime scene and uncovers the missing button Nakul had described, finally proving his innocence. Meanwhile, in Chandigarh, India, Nakul’s father receives a letter from Savi, inviting him to visit them in Bulgaria, where they have begun a new life.
